What Our Latest Market Stall Taught Us About Teeq

We've done market stalls before. But this one was different.

This time, we went in with a deliberate mindset shift: instead of setting up for our core audience and waiting for them to find us, we wanted to see what happened when we opened Teeq up to everyone. Men. Kids. Families. People who'd never heard of us. People who didn't think a brand like ours was for them.

It was one of the most valuable things we've ever done - and we wanted to share what we learnt. 

What We Expected vs What Actually Happened

We went in expecting our core customer: Disney-loving women in their 20s and 30s, browsing for something special for an upcoming park trip. And yes, they were there. They loved it. They bought things.

But what we didn't expect was everyone else.

Dads picking up tees for themselves. Grandparents looking for something for the grandkids. Teenage boys asking if we did Star Wars in their size. Mums holding up kids tees and asking “do you do this for adults too?”

The message was loud and clear: Teeq is for everyone. And right now, we're not quite showing that loudly enough.

What We Learnt #1: Men Want In

This was the biggest surprise. Time and again, men stopped at the stall - and they weren't just browsing for their partners. They wanted something for themselves.

What We Learnt #2: Parents Are Desperate for Quality Kids Disney Clothing

The kids section of our stall drew a crowd. Parents were picking up our Kids Custom Minimal T-Shirts and immediately asking: “Can I get a matching one for me?”

Yes. Yes you can. That's literally what our adult Minimal Tee range is for.

But beyond matching, what parents told us was that they're tired of cheap, plasticky Disney kids clothing that falls apart after three washes. They want something that lasts. Something that looks good in photos. Something their kid will actually want to wear.

Standing at a market stall on a warm May morning, it became very obvious very quickly: people want lightweight, wearable, everyday Disney clothing for summer.

Not heavy hoodies. Not thick cardigans. Light tees, breathable fabrics, and designs that work in the sunshine as much as they do at a park.

If we're honest, Teeq started as a brand for Disney-loving women. And that community is still at the heart of everything we do.

But what this market stall confirmed is that the love of Disney, Marvel, Star Wars and Pixar doesn't belong to one type of person. It belongs to dads and daughters, grandparents and grandkids, teenage boys and their mums. It belongs to anyone who grew up watching these films, anyone who's ever queued for a ride, anyone who still gets a little emotional when they hear the opening notes of a Disney score.
