30 Years Of Magic!

We have been working so hard behind the scenes on this one for months and months and months trying to create a single image which to us represents an amazing 30 Years Of Magic for Disneyland Paris!

This blog post will contain some ‘hints’ on future releases we have planned as I explain a few concepts we didn’t want to add in this design and why we’ve chosen to release this final piece in the colour and glory in which we present it to you…

The general anniversary celebration in the DLP parks began it’s six month long party on March 6th but true anniversary date is April 12th, originally called Euro Disney the park opened with the four lands we know and love today; Frontierland, Adventureland, Fantasyland, Discoveryland, which together some popular attractions that we still love and ride today attractions such as Phantom Manor, Big Thunder Mountain, Pirates Of The Caribbean and of course the symbol of the park; Sleeping Beauty’s Castle which has taken centre stage for inspiration on this collection!

The design explained:

We wanted to take all our favourite rides, all our favourite features, characters, snacks, hotels etc. and throw it all into one design and it was more of a mind map than a design, it represented Disneyland Paris now, not Disneyland Paris 30 years ago…

So to build a bridge between the then and now we stripped back the lands and the park itself to it’s bare foundations, it has always been a park with a castle and four lands, no matter what’s been added, no matter how much technology has advanced, the natural and subversive feel of each land has in a good way stayed the same.

We chose fireworks to symbolise the ‘celebration’ period and in each explosion is a motif of what each land was and still is represented by. From left to right just as they would appear on the map, Frontierland is represented by cowboy boot with cactus’s as part of the explosion, Adventureland is represented by a Pirate’s skull and cross bone flag with cannon balls as part of the explosion, Fantasyland is represented Sleeping Beauty’s crown with hearts as part of the explosion and finally Discoveryland is represent by a planet and a rocket with stars as part of the explosion, and just like the map of the Park, it features the castle taking centre stage building a bridge between all four lands.

You folks are LOVING our tie-dye release right now and we are loving the official DLP anniversary colours so a combination of the two allowed us to create the perfect purple, pink and blue ‘Fantasy Anniversary’ combination for the tie-dye and the embroidery.

What else is going to be released as part of this collection?

If you’re not a tie-dye fan then don’t worry, it’s not all tie-dye…
